Water restrictions to continue in Dublin city for next two nights

Restrictions will be in place from 9pm to 7am or 9am both tonight and tomorrow and will mean water pressure will be reduced at these times.

WATER RESTRICTIONS ARE to remain in place in throughout Dublin for the next two nights at least, Dublin City Council have confirmed.

Restrictions will be in place from 9pm to 7am both tonight and tomorrow and will mean water pressure will be reduced at these times.

The council said that a “significant amount” of water was now in storage, and that it would continue to review and monitor water storage levels over the coming days.

The statement from the council said that the amount of treated water in the capital remained at an “unsustainably low level” as a result of production problems at one of their water treatment plants.

The council also said that the current cold weather had caused an increase in the amount of water that was lost to leakage, and urged anyone who spotted leaking water to contact them.

The council apologised for the inconvenience caused and said that they would do everything possible to minimise the scale and duration of the restrictions.

Rest: Entire Dublin city hit by water problems, says council >
