TODAY AND TOMORROW are set to be fine, sunny days across the country, but we had better enjoy the weather over the next couple of days with heavy rain forecast to return later next week.
Met Éireann forecasts temperatures will range between 12 and 16 degrees by early afternoon today, but it will be cooler along the Leinster and south-Munster coast due to easterly breezes.
This evening, temperatures will stay above freezing with frost in a few sheltered places only.
Sunday will follow suit, with temperatures again in the mid-teens, and Monday will also be a good day with more dry, settled weather.
The western half of the country will again enjoy temperatures in the mid-to-high teens throughout the weekend and into next week.
Showery rain will arrive in Munster on Monday evening, however, before spreading northward.
The sun should still persist for a time on Tuesday, before Wednesday brings with it heavy rain.
On Wednesday, Met Éireann predicts “further outbreaks of rain, turning heavy in many western counties during the day”, adding that there will be “further heavy falls of showery rain overnight”.
