Good weather on the way but don't put your raincoat away just yet

A sunnier weekend is on the way according to Met Éireann

GOOD WEATHER IS on the way but it’s not quite time to put the raincoats away yet.

After months of rain Met Éireann is forecasting a sunnier weekend with high pressure conditions set to move in from tomorrow.

Today is set to be mostly dry with sunny spells and some isolated showers with highs of 10 to 14 degrees. The rain will return this evening with the forecast including heavy bursts of rain in places turning into scattered showers from the west.

Starting tomorrow the weekend is set to bring some sun alongside the rain with Met Éireann forecasting highs of 11 to 14 degrees on Friday. Though there is a chance of showers, some of which may be heavy, we will enjoy warmer southwesterly winds.

Getting into the weekend, Saturday is set to bring sunnier conditions and some clear skies. There is still a chance of showers but Met Éireann said these will ease and die out  through the afternoon and evening

Saturday night then is set to be mostly dry and clear with lowest temperatures of 1 to 4.

Sunday then will finally be mostly dry across the country with just the odd light shower and highs of 10 to 14 degrees. Mostly dry conditions will continue into the night then across the country.

Monday is set to improve again with Met Éireann long sunny spells. Temperatures could even get up to a maximum of 16 degrees.
