Thick smoke can be seen from Dublin.

A FIRE HAS broken out in the Wicklow Mountains this evening, leading to a reported road closure in the local area.

Thick smoke is visible across parts of Dublin city as emergency services respond to the blaze.

According to the Wicklow People, emergency services are responding to a fire on the Featherbeds Road, near Glencree.

Motorists in the area have reported thick smoke in Blessington and further afield in Dublin.

Tuesday saw fire services battle a wildfire at Killarney National Park, with the nature minister claiming that the blaze was man-made.
