CHALLENGING WIND CONDITIONS are impacting flight operations at Dublin Airport this afternoon.
Earlier today, a total of 9 inbound flights were diverted to other airports as a result of the wind conditions, spokesperson Graeme McQueen said.
Eight were diverted to Shannon Airport and one was diverted to Birmingham, while a number of inbound and outbound were subject to delays.
“All 9 diverted flights have since arrived at Dublin Airport after refuelling. While winds are due to ease as the day goes on, further knock-on delays are possible. As always, passengers should contact their airline directly for updates regarding the status of their flight,” McQueen said.
The changing direction of winds and strong gusts have required a number of runway changes over the course of the day, he added, and “the airport’s teams are working closely with airlines to get passengers on their way”.
