A LORRY DRIVER in Germany had a lucky escape when a wind turbine blade hit his vehicle.
The 62-metre long blade was being transported to a wind farm along the A33 motorway near Bielefeld in the northeast of the country when the incident happened earlier today.
BBC News reports that the driver only suffered minor injuries.
However, another driver is said to have been seriously injured when their vehicle hit the blade.
The motorway was blocked for several hours while the blade was being removed.
Police said over €520,000-worth of damage was done.
