Wind warning issued for 11 counties tomorrow with difficult travelling conditions forecast

A WIND WARNING has been issued for eleven counties tomorrow.
The Status Yellow warning has been issued for counties Clare, Cork, Kerry, Waterford, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Wexford, Wicklow, valid from 4pm tomorrow until midnight.
Met Éireann said it will be “very windy with strong and gusty southwest winds”. Potential impacts include difficult travelling conditions, some fallen trees and branches, loose objects being displaced, and some wave overtopping.
Separately, the UK’s Met Office has warned of rain in the six counties in the North. This warning is valid from 9pm tonight until 9pm t0morrow.
The warnings follow a since expired warning of dense fog this morning, after another night of freezing temperatures.
Later on today it will be dry with some sunny spells for most for a time, but there’ll be scattered showers, mainly in Ulster and parts of the west, including a few heavy and wintry ones in the north.
According to Met Éireann’s latest forecast, cloud will build from the west with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle spreading through the afternoon and evening.
High temperatures will be between 4 to 9 degrees.
