THE COST OF petrol and diesel soared after the US and Israel attacked Iran almost eight weeks ago – and despite government measures to reduce prices, they remain high.

Now trade union Fórsa has called on the government to increase work from home days for civil servants due to the impact of the fuel crisis and the ongoing problem of congestion on Irish roads.

It’s arguing that one more day of remote work per week would reduce both traffic jams and demand for fossil fuels, as well as giving workers back the time and money they would otherwise spend commuting.

For many Irish workers, particularly in rural areas where public transport and cycling are not an option, fuel prices are a big deal. We want to hear your stories and views on commuting during a fuel crisis.
