18-year-old man dies in Tipperary car crash overnight

Two young females and another 18-year-old man were taken to Portlaoise Hospital but have since been released.

GARDAÍ IN ROSCREA have confirmed that an 18-year-old male driver was pronounced dead at the scene of a car crash that took place at approximately 9pm last night.

His body was removed to Limerick Regional Hospital where a post mortem is due to take place later today.

Passengers

Three passengers in the car at the time of the collision – two females aged 20 and 19-years-old and one male aged 18 –  were taken to Portlaoise Hospital, but they have since been released.

The incident took place on the M7 at Junction 22 Roscrea northbound.

The M7 will remain closed for most of the morning and motorists travelling northbound are asked to exit at Junction 23(Moneygall) and can rejoin the M7 at Junction 21(Borris in Ossory).
