1. #CHARLEVILLE The post-mortems have taken place on the bodies of twins Thomas and Paddy O’Driscoll and their brother Jonathan. The results won’t be released to the public. The Daily Mail reports that Jonathan was out on bail at the time of the incident.

2. #EBOLA Sierra Leone is to hold a four-day lockdown to try and combat the spread of Ebola. From 18 – 21 September, people will be subject to the lockdown, during which health workers will try to isolate new cases, says the BBC.

3. #UKRAINE The ceasefire between Ukraine and pro-Russian rebels is holding after a pact was signed yesterday. But rebel envoy Igor Plotnitsky said that the ceasefire “does not mean a change in our goal to split from Ukraine”.

4. #INVESTIGATION An investigation is underway into the stabbing of a woman at a Waterford psychiatric hospital. Gardaí have arrested a man in connection with the stabbing of the woman. Both were patients at St Otteran’s Hospital.

5. #DISCOVERY An artwork by Claude Monet has been found in a suitcase that belonged to a late German art collector. The find comes after officials found other works at Cornelius Gurlitt’s apartment, including an Degas sculpture.

6. #ARREST A Tyrone man has been arrested in Merseyside over the death of Meet Sing Kapoor, an Afghan immigrant who was found in a shipping container on 16 August. RTÉ reports that he was held on suspicion of manslaughter and facilitating illegal entry into the UK.

7. #EVACUATION Around 80 people had to leave a city-centre apartment block in Limerick last night due to a fire. Three units of the fire and rescue service were called to fight the blaze at Mount Kennett apartments just after 10pm.

8. #HEALTH More than 5,100 elderly people had their medical cards removed under health service savings, the Irish Independent reports. It says that 4,875 people were downgraded to a GP visit card.

9. #MH17 Malaysia is sending investigators to the MH17 crash site in Ukraine to retrieve body parts that are still there, CNN reports. The Australian Prime Minister, Tony Abbott, has said that an investigation needs to take place into the crash.
