House 2 doors down from us was burgled on Friday, they took the kids Christmas Presents (including a laptop and PS3) and cash they had received, heartless bastards

How low can you go, we seem to out-do ourselves each time. Justice system not strict enough and no morals in these people. Bring in the three strikes, you’d see a change!

Typical of the intelligence associated with the burglary types. They thought the urn had value other than of the sentimental variety. I doubt if they have the decency to return it.

Why on earth would anyone steal someone’s ashes? Even the box has no value although they are priceless to the relatives of the deceased. If these individuals have even an ounce of decency they will return them immediately. Also they should grow some balls and stop robbing the houses of people who have little enough as it is

It is such a terrible thing to do to rob anyone of something so precious to them can’t understand how it turned into a debate and its everyone s choice burial or cremation don’t understand why people would give Joan a bad time after all she lost her father , some people !!

some people just can not afford to actually put the urn in a grave yard. not a cheap thing to do!

Hope the family will reunite the most precious thing(the ashes) soon.

Let’s see–stupid people breaking into a house, searching for anything valuable in dim light. They find an attractive container, look inside and find a white powder in a plastic bag. Now you KNOW what’s going through the minds of those stupid people, right? I shudder to think where the ancestors ashes ended up.

Doubt they noticed what it was when taking it,the house was probably in darkness.sad to say but once they notice what it is chances are it’s getting discarded of immediately.hope not though….

Why would anyone steals ashes from a house? I wouldn’t be surprised if the thief was desperate and thought it might have been a jewellery or worth something itself.
Either that or if nothing else substantial was taken, it would be interesting to hear if there is a dispute in the extended family over who should have the ashes… Then perhaps it was a family member…….

I never understood hanging onto the ashes of the deceased. What purpose does it serve?

Well they will have the ghosts and the bad luck of those two departed people follow them for the rest of their days .
If it were me I’d be returning those urns .

Why would you keep your relatives’ ashes in the house? Sounds a bit macabre to me.
