California prison officials release new photo of Charles Manson

The 77-year-old former cult leader is serving a life sentence in a California prison for killing nine people.

CALIFORNIA PRISON OFFICIALS have released a new photograph of convicted cult killer Charles Manson that shows the 77-year-old with long hair, a shaggy beard and a swastika scar on his forehead.

The photo was taken last June and released on Wednesday. The buzz cut he had in his last picture is gone, his hair and beard are now long and gray. He has had the carved swastika scar for decades.

Manson is scheduled for his 12th parole hearing next week. He’s serving a life sentence at Corcoran State Prison for the killings of nine people, including the 1969 deaths of pregnant actress Sharon Tate and six other people in cult attacks.

Three of his followers also are serving life sentences. A fourth, Susan Atkins, died in prison in 2009.

That Sharon Tate murder was so brutal that that alone would warrant a life sentence let alone the other horrendous murders. Also,he was a cult leader,a man who could distort the minds of many. Fuck him,leave him where he is. There’s enough lunatics and evil roaming free as it is

Keeping him in prison is the most humane option available. If he were to be let out, he’d very soon be dead. He’d have no conception of the world today, and someone would have a go at killing him. They’d be baying for blood. Prison means showing him mercy.

The swastica in this instance is not the Nazi emblem that you may think. In fact it’s an ancient eastern symbol meaning “you reap what you sow”. Mr. Manson is well aware of that.

  US Government did not want to make a martyr of him. Let him rot slowly in a prison for the rest of his life, ensures many people would forget about him, particularly sympathisers capable of picking up where he left off. The death penalty is far to easy an option.

  He was but the original death penalty laws in California were ruled unconstitutional by the California Supreme Court so his sentence was commuted to life imprisonment.

It’s a brilliant sentence for what he did and his partners too. It was a vile act of sheer evil that has since been overtaken many times but it was the horror of it for the innocence of the times that made it even more revolting as a human act. We are all the worse for it since as many other horrors have occurred with less and less impact made on society’s psyche.

He was given the death penalty mark , then california got rid if the death penalty temporarily and when they brought it back it no longer applied to him. I just wonder why they have to publish a photo of him. I don’t really care about him. Unless they are letting us know what he looks like because he’s being let out, in case he end up in our town… He’s a sad sad pathetic man .

Forty years in a US jail. Wow, that’s hard to conceive of. Since his crimes, we know a lot more about the downside of psychotropic drugs! Wonder if he’d still try n make waves if they freed him? Or, maybe jail has ‘rehabilitated’ him.

Incidentally, don’t know how someone could be rehabilitated in the states, as they’d have to have been habilitated first lol
