Man arrested as cannabis found in bedroom of Wexford house

The gardaí, acting on foot of a warrant, seized €24,000 of cannabis at a house in New Ross earlier today.

A MAN HAS been arrested after the discovery of drugs in a bedroom and a greenhouse at property in New Ross, Co Wexford earlier today.

On foot of a warrant, gardaí discovered cannabis growing in a bedroom and a further quanity in a greenhouse at a house on Ballylane East in New Ross at around 1pm today.

The plants have an estimated street value of €24,000, subject to analysis.

A 26-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to the local garda station where he is currently being detained under section two of the Criminal Justice Act.

He can be held for up to seven days.
