Pensioner hospitalised after serious assault in Coolock

The 77-year-old was assaulted at an apartment in Coolock.

A PENSIONER IS in a serious condition after being assaulted over the weekend.

Gardaí said the incident occurred in Coolock at around 10pm on Saturday 14 September.

The 77-year-old man was seriously assaulted at an apartment in Beechpark Avenue, Coolock.

He was brought to Beaumont Hospital, where he is described as being in a critical condition.

The Irish Independent reports the man was stabbed multiple times.

The investigation is ongoing and there have been no arrests at this stage.
