Woman cyclist dies after falling off the Conor Pass in Kerry

A cyclist in her mid-30s died after her bike left the road and hit a ditch on picturesque mountain pass between Dingle and Tralee this morning.

GARDAÍ IN DINGLE are investigating a fatal road traffic accident this morning that left a cyclist dead.

The tragic incident occurred on the picturesque Conor Pass between the Kerry towns of Dingle and Tralee at around 10.40am this morning.

A female cyclist in her mid-30s was pronounced dead at the scene when the bicycle she was cycling left the road and hit a ditch.

Her body has been removed to University Hospital Kerry in Tralee and the road has since reopened.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who can assist them to contact Dingle Garda station on 066-9151522, the Garda confidential line 1800 666 or any Garda station.

The Conor Pass – or Connor Pass – is one of the highest Irish mountain passes served by an asphalted road.
