Services delayed after 'scuffle' breaks out among 50 youths on Dart

Security on the train called in gardaí yesterday evening to help disperse the crowd.

DART SERVICES WERE delayed yesterday evening when security officers had to call gardaí in for back-up to deal with a large group of youths causing trouble on a train.

A spokesperson for Irish Rail told TheJournal.ie that a “scuffle” broke out on board the train.

“There were approximately 50 youths travelling on that train from Howth,” they said.

The spokesperson explained there was security on the train but because of the size of the group they called in gardaí for back-up.

Gardaí attended and the group was dispersed at Bayside.

There was no damage to the train and no arrests were made.
