Poll: Should Dublin have a directly-elected mayor?

What do you think?

THE GREEN PARTY will today launch a Private Members’ Bill which would see Dubliners vote for a directly-elected mayor with executive powers from 2019.

Party leader Eamon Ryan said that the city had four local authorities, four mayors and 183 councillors on top of TDs and state agencies, leaving its vision unclear.

The move has been attempted before and defeated, but the Green Party is hoping to put the plan on a legislative footing.
