Motorists asked to avoid scene of oil depot fire outside Waterford

A fire has broken out at an oil depot outside Waterford City, with local traffic diversions in place.

GARDAÍ HAVE ASKED motorists to try and avoid the scene of a fire at an oil depot in the south-east this lunchtime.

The fire, at an oil depot on the R448 (Kilmacow Road) outside Waterford City, was discovered shortly before midday today.

Gardaí are asking local motorists to avoid the area, and have appealed those those travelling on the M9 Dublin-Waterford motorway not to exit at the Mullinavat exit.

Local traffic diversions are in place.

Gardaí asked motorists to avoid the area and allow the emergency services to attend to the fire.
