Gardaí seek witnesses to Kilkenny armed robbery

A lone man threatened staff with a hand gun yesterday evening, making off with a quantity of cash.

GARDAÍ IN THOMASTOWN, Co. Kilkenny are appealing for witnesses to an armed robbery that took place yesterday evening.

At around 5.20pm a lone raider entered the Post Office at Kilmoganny, Co. Kilkenny.

He was wearing blue jeans, a hooded top and had a scarf concealing his face.

Witnesses say he spoke with an Irish accent and threatened the cashier with a handgun and demanded money.

He then escaped on foot with a quantity of cash.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses who were in the Kilmoganny area between 4.30pm and 5.30pm to contact the incident room at Thomastown Garda Station at 056 7754150 or contact the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111.
