High winds have resulted in road closures and serious damage to cars and buildings in England and Scotland today.

IRISH MOTORISTS have been warned to be particularly careful while driving today as high winds and stormy conditions affect many parts of the country and have brought debris down onto the roads and cut power to thousands of homes.
