Woman dies in overnight Limerick City house fire

The woman in her 40s was pronounced dead at the scene.

A WOMAN IN her 40s has died after a fire in Limerick City overnight.

Limerick Fire Service were called to the fire at Daly Avenue’s in Janesboro at about 11.50 pm.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and her body has been removed to University Hospital Limerick where a post-mortem will take place.

Three fire brigade units spent about 90 minutes at the scene of the fire which has now been sealed off for a technical examination.

Gardaí say they are conducting house-to-house inquires as part of their investigations but are not treating the fire as suspicious.
