Man (19) to be charged with murder of Susan Dunne

The teenager will appear in court this morning.

A 19-YEAR-OLD man is to be charged with the murder of Susan Dunne in Lixnaw, county Kerry.

The teenager is to appear at Killarney District Court at 10.30am today.

The accused was detained shortly after the victim’s body was discovered at her home in Ballinageragh. The 53-year-old had suffered head injuries and died before she was found by a neighbour.

Post-mortem results were furnished to the investigating gardaí but not made public.

Susan Dunne, also known as Susan Sheehy, had moved to the Kerry village with her son some years ago and had become an active member of Kerry Autism Action.

Tributes have been paid to the mother-of-three for her work within the organisation.

“Sue was an amazing lady that will never be forgotten by many families for all her help to them,” the group said.
