A man in his 70s has died following a car crash in Limerick

The incident happened on the Condell Road at approximately 8am.

A MAN IN his 70s has died following a two-car crash this morning in Limerick.

The incident involving two cars happened on the Condell Road at approximately 8am.

The man in his 70s, who was the sole occupant of the car, was brought to University Hospital Limerick where he was pronounced dead.

The only person in the second car did not require medical attention at the scene.

The road closed between Clonmackan and Shelbourne Road Lower to allow for a forensic investigation to take place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact Mayorstone Park Garda Station on 061-456980, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
