Man hospitalised after being stabbed in Cork

A 35-year-old man is in hospital today after receiving a number of stab wounds in the early hours of this morning.

A MAN IS in hospital in Cork this morning after receiving a number of stab wounds in the Wellington Road area in the early hours of this morning.

The 35-year-old was removed by ambulance to Cork University Hospital following the incident at Parkview, Wellington Road, at about 6.25am.

His injuries have been described as not life-threatening.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination.

Investigating Gardai are appealing to anyone who was in the Parkview area between 6am and 6.30am this morning to contact Mayfield Garda Station  021 4558510, the Garda Confidential 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
