ONE LUCKY woman has beaten around 100 fellow contestants to secure a coveted beauty pageant title: Miss Brasilia Penitentiary 2011.

Several Brazilian prisons take part in the annual event, which is judged by a modelling agency. Of the dozens who participated, just 12 were selected for the final.

But only one inmate could take the crown:
