It’s a brand new year…

New year, new you…

Traditionally, the new year is a time to make resolutions – whether they be for health, fitness, personal or work reasons.

There’s a sense of anticipation in the air – the thought that anything could happen this year, that you could achieve all your hopes and desires.

And who says you can’t?

What does a new year mean to you?

Often we see a new year as a chance to start again – whether that’s literally or metaphorically.

Health and fitness plans are often started on 1 January when motivation is high to make this year your best year yet. Other lofty goals can include mastering a new skill – from learning a language, learning to cook, to learning an instrument.

The new year is also a great time to think of all those little odds and ends you’ve been meaning to do that you haven’t got around to – from fixing that leaking tap in the bathroom to repainting the house, for example.

Often times though, a new year is a chance to really make some plans for big changes in your life. Maybe this is the year you’ll finally save money to take that trip of a lifetime you’ve always planned on going on. Or perhaps this year, there will be some massive life event like getting married, or planning a family.

For others, the new year could be a time to give something up – such as alcohol, or smoking or unhealthy eating or work habits.

So what will this new year mean to you ? It’s all to play for.
