So, here is what we can expect to be happening in the Dáil, Seanad and Committee rooms today…

3 things we’ll be keeping an eye on

  • Environment Minister Phil Hogan is up for questioning at 9.30am.
  • The Dáil will hear how the government plans to tackle homelessness and increase social housing at 10.45 am.
  • Taoiseach Enda Kenny is back from his UK trip to face a grilling in Leaders’ Questions at 12 pm.

Everything else that’s happening in the Dáil

  • After the Order of Business at 12.21pmPre-European Council Statements are due to take up 65 minutes of today’s schedule, starting at 12.51 pm.
  • Topical Issues will be the focus of debate from 1.56pm.
  • The Government will continue outlining its priorities for the year ahead at 3.44 pm.
  • Sinn Féin’s motion on scrapping the Gateway scheme will be debated again today during Private Members Business at 7.30 pm. Last week Gerry Adams suggested the initiative was massaging live register figures.
  • The Dáil will adjourn at 9 pm.

Everything happening  in the Seanad:

  • The Order of Business will kick off the day’s proceedings in the Seanad at 10.30 am, where everything and anything will be debated for two hours.
  • This will be followed by statements on the 2020 Strategy on the Irish Language at 12.30 pm.
  • Private Members Business will centre on renewable energy sources and targets at 2.30pm.
  • Matters on the Adjournment will round out the Seanad’s business today at 4.30pm.
