Poll: Will you watch a leaders' debate?

The first debate between party leaders is due to kick off at 8pm on Tuesday night, but will you be tuning in to any televised debate?

NEGOTIATIONS FOR A LEADERS’ DEBATE in the run-up to the election have been underway for months, according to the political parties and TV stations vying to host the event.

Yesterday, Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny said he would not participate in any programme involving TV3′s Vincent Browne, who is due to present the first debate on Tuesday night.

Micheál Martin and Eamon Gilmore have already confirmed their attendance for the 8pm debate, according to TV3. The broadcaster says it has extended a standing invitation to Kenny to attend.

Plans for other debates, potentially involving the leaders of the Green Party and Sinn Féin, are also being finalised by RTÉ.

But how do you feel about leaders’ debates in general?

Will you be tuning in to any debate that’s televised, or have you heard enough from the party leaders already?

Poll Results:

Yes, I will be tuning in to at least one debate (715)
