Robbers attack cash-in-transit van in Meath

Cash box taken and getaway car found in Ratoath.

A CASH BOX was stolen by two men who held up a cash-in-transit van in Meath this afternoon.

The two men held up a security man at the van with an imitation firearm. The van was outside a service station on the Fairyhouse Road outside Ratoath, Co Meath.

The cash box contained an undisclosed sum of money and the two men made a getaway in a silver Mazda Premacy car with a registration that began “00 SO…”.

The car was abandoned at nearby Cairn Court estate and the imitation firearm found inside. No-one was injured in the robbery.
