Search continues for two men off Clare coast

The search and rescue operation resumed at first light this morning.

A SEARCH HAS resumed this morning for two fishermen who failed to return home to Clare yesterday evening.

Valentia Coast Guard told TheJournal.ie that the operation recommenced at 6am with both the Doolin and Kilkee Marine Rescue units on scene.

The Waterford Coast Guard rescue helicopter and Aran Island lifeboat have also been deployed off the coast of the Quilty area.

The two fishermen were on board their 28-foot registered trawler near Hag’s Head at lunchtime yesterday. They were due back at 5pm but when they failed to do so, the alarm was raised.

In a separate incident, a man’s body has been recovered off the Cork coast after his boat capsized.
