Man in 60s dies after sustaining head injuries at Dublin flat

A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene and is now being held by gardaí in Terenure.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING the death of a man in his 60s after an incident at a house in Terenure, Dublin, earlier today.

At approximately 5.45 pm gardaí and emergency services were called to a flat at a house in the Ashdale Gardens area of Terenure.

A man in his 60s was taken from the scene by ambulance to St. James’ Hospital having sustained head injuries. It is understood he had been badly beaten. He was later pronounced dead.

A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at Terenure Garda Station. He can be detained for up to 24 hours.

The scene is preserved pending a forensic and technical examination and the state pathologist has been notified.
