Some of Three's customers wrongly told they've spent hundreds on internet services

The phone service provider said the messages were sent in error and the issue has been resolved.

SOME OF THREE’s customers got a shock today when they received a text saying they had spent large sums of money on internet services.

A number of people were told they had spent hundreds of euro.

Several customers got in touch with the phone service provider on Twitter, where they were informed the messages were sent in error.

It a statement to TheJournal.ie, Three Ireland said: “This morning, some of our prepay customers received a text message in error regarding their allowance.

“This issue has now been resolved and we are working to ensure that the correct amount of credit is available on customers’ accounts.

“We would like to apologise for any inconvenience.”

Bill-pay users were not affected.
