Three says issues with mobile service resolved

Thousands of customers were experiencing difficulties since yesterday afternoon.

THOUSANDS OF THREE Ireland customers who were without mobile service since yesterday afternoon should see full service resume today.

Customers reported not having service and being unable to make calls. Others said text messages were not sending for hours.

The company confirmed yesterday that there were issues with its service and it was working to fix them. This morning, it said the problem has now been resolved.

However some Twitter users say their service still has not been restored.

Three has said it will now be looking into any customer issues on a case by case basis.

Commenting on the outage, Minister for European Affairs and Data Protection, Dara Murphy said it is “unacceptable” that Ireland’s second largest mobile network should crash and remain out of service for such a long period of time over a busy holiday weekend.

“It raises concerns about the network’s capacity to service its 1.5 million subscribers at peak periods, while also demonstrating the critical need for Ireland’s mobile telecom operators to accelerate investment and share network resources to ensure the country has sufficient mobile data and telephony capacity in the future.”
