Man arrested after woman dies at Waterford psychiatric hospital
The death occured this evening just after 7pm
A WOMAN HAS died on the grounds of a psychiatric hospital in Waterford City.
The death occurred this evening at St. Otteran’s at Psychiatric Hospital at about 7pm.
A man has been arrested following her death and he is currently being held at Waterford Garda Station.
He is being held under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act for which he can be detained for up to 24 hours
The scene of the woman’s death has been preserved pending a garda technical examination and office the of the State Pathologist has been notified.
Investigations are ongoing.
