Summer

How you enjoyed today's weather (and one person who definitely didn't)

Are you enjoying the summer weather? Oh yes indeed.

SUN, GLORIOUS SUN. The warm weather makes life feel that bit better, doesn’t it?

Everyone on our fair isle has been enjoying the nicest weather in Ireland that we’ve seen in a long, long time, so we asked our readers to send in pics of them making the most of the blue skies.

First though, here’s one person who might not have been having the best time. Muireann Lane tells us that by the time she left Portmarnock Beach at 5pm, the poor driver was still stuck there.

Here’s hoping he managed to get free:

Siobhan Hargis sent in photos of Sammy the Jack Russell enjoying the beach at Donabate yesterday.

“He’s quite the superstar, I think you’ll agree,” she said. We certainly do.

Another fella enjoying the beach was Darragh Lyons – who is a man, not a dog – and he reports: “The water in Dollymount was both clean and WARM for once”. Nice one, Darragh.

This cat looks like he’s really enjoying catching some rays. Thanks for the pic, Don O’Hare:

This is sunny Rooskey in Co Leitrim, as captured by Niamh hand. Looks peaceful:

Here’s someone who knows what they like on a sunny day. That’s you, Gavin Cole in Leixlip:

Wow. Here is Keem Bay on Achill Island in all its glory. No wonder Shauna Scott tells us it is known as Paradise Beach.

Another one from Shauna, of Abigail enjoying the swans today:

Killaloe in Co Clare looks like a lovely place to be today. Here it is, as snapped by Antoinette Ryan:

Here’s Cillian having a ball in the paddling pool, as photographed by his mum Heather:

Finally, here’s a pic that Tricia Gannon sent in of four kids enjoying the sun. Now that’s summer if we ever saw it:

There’s still a little time left to make the most of the day, especially as drizzle is forecast tomorrow. So if you’re indoors, why not go for a stroll and enjoy the warmth.
