2010 in Photos: January

In January, the world’s tallest building was unveiled; Irish passports were forged by the Israeli secret service; and longest annular solar eclipse of the millennium occured.

THE YEAR STARTED with a bang, when the tallest man-made structure in the world was officially opened in Dubai.

Later in the month bleaker scenes reached Haiti, when it was rocked by a devastating earthquake that killed 200,000 people and left millions homeless.
