1. #BUDGET 2014: Ministers Noonan and Howlin have released pre-budget messages today telling people it “will not be easy”. Meanwhile, RTÉ are reporting that the health budget will include the introduction of GP care for children aged five and under.

2. #GILLIGAN: Crime boss John Gilligan has lost an appeal challenging the constitutionality of sentences he received for mobile phone offences committed while in prison.

3. #ROBBERY: Gardaí are looking for two men who threatened staff at an NCT centre in Droghda, wearing white boiler suits and Halloween masks, and stole more than 1,000 NCT certificates.

4. #PERU: Michaella McCollum Connolly and Melissa Reid have been transferred to a larger women’s prison in Peru that is notorious for overcrowding and unsanitary conditions.

5. #MADELINE MCCANN: British police today released e-Fit images of a man connected to the disappearance of missing child Madeline McCann. They also confirmed that witnesses in Portugal at the time saw a man carrying a blonde child towards the beach are.
