1. #SNOWDEN: A picture of the US fugitive Edward Snowden has emerged 19 days after he arrived at a Moscow airport in a bid to gain asylum. He has apparently told human rights groups that he wants asylum in Moscow.

2. #MAYO: A 26-year-old man has been charged with the murders of two brothers in their home in Castlebar, Co Mayo earlier this week, RTÉ reports. Alan Cawley appeared in court this morning charged over the deaths of  Jack, 76, and Tommy Blaine, 69.

3. #NEW MINISTER: The newly-appointed Minister of State for European Affairs Paschal Donohoe has expressed his shock at being appointed to the role following Lucinda Creighton’s resignation last night. The Dublin Central TD said he was very sorry to see his former colleague go.

4. #PROPERTY TAX: A man who spent over three weeks on hunger strike over the property tax has ended his protest and could meet Taoiseach Enda Kenny soon. Tony Rochford met with two Fine Gael TDs today to discuss his concerns. Here’s what he told us.

5. #CIVIL PARTNERSHIPS: Finally there were 429 civil partnerships in the State last year with now over 1,000 lesbian and gay couples in such arrangements since the provision was introduced two years ago.
