1. #IRISH WATER Jailed anti-water charge protesters have ended their hunger strike. The three men began refusing food over the weekend. Their family have urged them to “come back strong”.

2. #CLAIMS Meath TD Ray Butler has spoken to gardaí after a woman alleged a ‘hit-and-run’ protest outside of his home. He said his family were left shaken and upset after the protest.

3. #WEATHER WATCH Yes, the weather is still awful. Met Éireann’s Orange Warning remains in place until 11am, but electricity is already gone for hundreds of people in Donegal.

4. #CRACKDOWN French President Francois Hollande said that “anti-semites” have no place in a republic, as he talked about cracking down on hate crime in France.

5. #JOBSWATCH The new Liffey Valley shopping centre will get a Penneys – and create 450 jobs overall. There will also be six new restaurants and 3,300 square metres of civic space at the centre.

6. #THAT’S NUTS A new study says that feeding babies nuts can prevent some of them developing nut allergies later in life. Researchers said the early introduction of peanuts “significantly decreased the frequency of the development of peanut allergy among children at high risk”.

7. #DECISION TIME Greece has begun handing its reform proposals to the troika today. It missed yesterday’s deadline, but if the troika believes the reforms are sufficient, it will discuss them on conference call this afternoon.

8. #COURTS The Supreme Court will decide today whether a teenage Traveller was discriminated against after he was refused admission to his local secondary school. The complaint was first lodged in 2010.

9. #UP IN SMOKE The Irish Cancer Society says it will no longer accept corporate donations from Arthur Cox, the Irish Times reports. This is due to the legal firm acting for Japan Tobacco, which threatened legal action against the State over plain cigarette packaging.
