1. Tributes are continuing to be paid to five young people who lost their lives in a collision in Co Louth on Saturday evening.

The scene at the R3168 has been examined by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and both vehicles were removed to a secure location shortly after 6pm yesterday evening. 

SIPO complaint

2. A complaint against Fine Gael Councillor Britto Pereppadan over him receiving a €3,000 payment into his bank account from a Indian nurse who was charged an unlawful agency fee to work in an Irish nursing home has been referred to the Standards in Public Office Committee by South Dublin County Council.

The Epstein files

3. US President Donald Trump has said Republican lawmakers should vote to release more files related to deceased paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, saying “we have nothing to hide” despite previous opposition to the measure.

4. The HSE is marking the first World Cervical Cancer Elimination Day today, as a new report shows Ireland advancing across HPV vaccination, screening and early detection.

5. A teenager has been hospitalised following a collision between a car and an e-bike in Waterford city yesterday evening.

Gaza

6. The UN Security Council will vote later today on a US-drafted resolution to deploy a stabilisation force to Gaza as part of Donald Trump’s 20-point plan for Gaza.

Prison conditions

7. Justice Minister Jim O’Callaghan’s plans to arm prison officers with pepper spray have faced opposition from the Oireachtas Justice Committee, who have told him to focus on reducing overcrowding in prisons instead.

8. The Minister for Older People defended reported plans to push for older people to split their homes into flats in an effort to boost supply.
