David Drumm

Anglo case against Drumm is adjourned

Anglo’s case against its former CEO has been adjourned for three weeks.

AN ACTION BY Anglo Irish Bank against its former chief executive David Drumm has been adjourned, RTÉ reports.

The action launched by AIB to recover a debt of more than €8m will now not go ahead for three weeks.

Lawyers for the US trustee in bankruptcy in Massachusetts, where Drumm filed for bankruptcy, are administering his estate. Barrister Bernard Dunleavy apologised on behalf of US trustee Kathleen P Dwyer for not coming before the court.

He explained that Dwyer had only learned of the legal proceedings on 18 October and meant no disrespect to the court.

He added that Dwyer will ask the Irish bankruptcy court to recognise the US proceedings.

Justice Peter Kelly kept an injunction in place preventing Drumm’s wife from transferring half of the family house in Malahide back into her husband’s name.
