Poll: Are you afraid of spiders?

Give it to us straight. Be honest.

MOST SPIDERS WE encounter in Ireland are harmless but research recently published by NUI Galway scientists has confirmed that at least three people have been bitten by the false widow variety since the 1990s.

This morning, TheJournal.ie brought you details of the first verified guide and symptoms checklist on how to recognise and treat such injuries.

Do these details make you shrug or squirm?

To some spiders are, at most, pesky inconveniences but for others even the house spider can set off alarms.

Today we’re asking: Are you afraid of spiders?

Poll Results:

Yes (3795)
No, but I wouldn't fancy any of those Australian ones (3055)
No (2780)
