Further arrest in Darren Falsey murder investigation

Two men were arrested yesterday. This morning, gardaí arrested a third man in connection with the murder.

GARDAÍ HAVE ARRESTED a man aged in his 20s in connection with their investigation into the murder of Darren Falsey in Carrigaline, Co Cork earlier this year.

Falsey, 36, was shot dead in the home he shared with his partner and child on 3 August 2011.

Earlier this month, gardaí revealed that they had recovered a handgun from woodland in north Cork which was used as the murder weapon.

Yesterday, gardaí arrested two men, one in his 20s and the other in his 30s, under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007. Both remain in custody and are being held at Mayfield and Togher Garda Stations.

The man arrested this morning is being held at Bridewell Garda Station under the same section of the Criminal Justice Act.
