PSNI treating deaths at a house in Fermanagh as a murder-suicide
The police are currently treating the death of the woman as murder.
POLICE IN FERMANAGH are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 51-year-old woman and a 55-year-old man.
The two bodies were found at a house in the Abbey Road area of Lisnaskea in Fermanagh yesterday afternoon. Detectives are still at the scene.
While enquiries are still at an early stage, the police are currently treating the death of the woman as murder.
A man in his 30s was in the house at the time of the incident. He suffered stab wounds to his abdomen and his injuries are being treated as attempted murder.
He is in a stable condition in hospital.
Detective Chief Inspector Eamon Corrigan said: “Post mortem examinations will be carried out in due course and at this stage we are working to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
The town of Lisnaskea is located between Maguiresbridge and Brookeborough. Roads in the Maguiresbridge area were closed off yesterday night as police carried out their initial investigations.
The PSNI are not looking for anyone in relation to the incident at this time.
They are asking anyone with information which could assist with the investigation to contact detectives at the incident room in Lisnaskea on 101, quoting reference 774.
