GARDAÍ BELIEVE A stabbing incident in a Tipperary town in which four people were injured, two of which were stabbed, is linked to a local feud. 

It is believed the injured, at least one with stab wounds to the head, are being treated at Nenagh Hospital after they were transferred from the house in the town.

A large number of armed gardaí were called to the incident which happened shortly after midday. 

It is understood that the incident involved people involved in an ongoing feud in the town. 

Earlier today a street fight broke out and at least two people received stab wounds during that.

A source said that the incident last a matter of minutes but that it was a large fight involving a number of people.

While the injuries are serious it is believed to be non-life threatening. 

It is understood gardaí have spoken to the injured people and sources said at the moment they are investigating the incident as a large scale public order incident.   

A garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí received report of a public order incident involving a number of individuals in Nenagh, Co. Tipperary this afternoon. All parties involved had left the scene prior to the arrival of Gardaí.

“Four individuals subsequently sought medical treatment of their own accord for non-life threatening injuries.”
