Investigation launched into death of man who was found unresponsive on street in Kerry

A man, aged in his 70s, was found at 4am by gardaí in Kilgarvan and was later pronounced dead in hospital.

GARDAÍ HAVE LAUNCHED an investigation following the discovery of a man who was found unresponsive outside of premises in Co Kerry in the early hours of this morning.

The man, aged in his 70s, was found at 4am on Church Street in Kilgarvan, and was brought to Kerry University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators are probing all circumstances around, what gardaí are calling, the “unexplained” death. The State pathologist and the local coroner have been notified.

A post-mortem examination will take place shortly and will determine the course of the investigation, a garda spokesperson said. The scene is currently preserved at this time.
