Man arrested over Dublin assault which left victim with serious head injuries

The man who was assaulted remains in a serious condition in hospital today.

GARDAÍ INVESTIGATING THE assault of a man in his 30’s on Dame Lane on Saturday night have renewed their appeal for witnesses.

A man was arrested this morning in connection with the assault which left another man with serious head injuries.

The assault happened in a laneway near The George pub at around 11.30pm, as Dublin Pride celebrations were taking place in the city.

The victim, a man in his 30s, was found unconscious in the laneway by a member of the public. He had sustained serious head injuries.

Gardaí say they are particularly interested in speaking to a number of people who stopped and assisted the male after he was assaulted.

The man who was assaulted remains in Beaumont Hospital in a serious condition.
