Men beaten with sledgehammer and crowbar by masked gang

Two men in their 30s were attacked after four masked men smashed in doors and windows at the house.

POLICE ARE APPEALING for information in the wake of an attack on two men in their 30s at a house in Ballymoney in Co Antrim last night.

It happened on Carnany Drive in the town shortly before 11.30pm.

The windows and front door of the house were smashed in by four masked men, according to the PSNI.

“The gang assaulted two men, both aged in their 30s, using a crowbar and a sledgehammer,” Detective Inspector Bob Blemmings said.

“One of the victims was attacked in an alleyway beside the house and then dragged to a grassed area and further assaulted,” the officer said.

He has sustained suspected fractures to his arms, legs and ankles along with a number of puncture wounds.

The other man sustained a laceration to the top of his head.

Detectives in Coleraine are appealing for anyone with information wot come forward.
