Billie Eilish accepts award from Wall Street Journal and tells billionaires: 'Give your money away'

Eilish was honoured at the WSJ Innovator Awards at New York’s Museum of Modern Art.

US POP STAR Billie Eilish has received an award from The Wall Street Journal, but urged billionaires to give their money away during her acceptance speech.

Eilish was honoured at the WSJ Innovator Awards at New York’s Museum of Modern Art last night, during which TV show host Stephen Colbert announced the singer would be donating $11.5 million to organisations tackling food insecurity and climate change.

“I love you all but there’s a few people in here that have a lot more money than me,” Eilish said, drawing laughs from the audience.

“If you’re a billionaire, why are you a billionaire?” she asked.

“No hate, but give your money away, shorties.”
