Would you have voted for Bob Geldof had he been on the ballot?

Although he didn’t end up running for the presidency, The Boomtown Rats frontman thinks he would have won.

TODAY IS THE day voters will elect the 10th President of Ireland.

The Áras race also saw speculation about a number of high-profile figures considering a run – including the lead singer of The Boomtown Rats, Bob Geldof.

Geldof told The Journal that he had no regrets about not running but said he would have “loved the fight.”

“I think I’d have walked the fucking thing,” he said. “I think I would have won.”
